She's So Sad She's Smiling

He tells her that he loves her, cuz that's what she wants to hear
Enticing with a plastic smile, his empty words keep her near
She knows he doesn't love her, but likes the way he makes her feel
So she closes her eyes and prays for change, and hopes tomorrow it won't be real

She can't wait for him to love her
But she can't stand to see him go
So she dreams about another
While she smiles for him and puts on a show
She's forgotten there's more to life than crying
She's so sad that she's smiling

Her friends tell her to leave him, But they don't know her biggest fears
No one knows the bag's hidden in her car, she's been packed the last 2 years
She's been behind the wheel for hours, but has barely made it down the street
All she knows is his prison, She's trapped like Brooks when she's set free

She can't wait for him to love her
But she can't stand to see him go
So she dreams about another
While she smiles for him and puts on a show
She's forgotten there's more to life than crying
She's so sad that she's smiling

Maybe one day she'll walk away
But tonight's another night she'll choose to stay

I Just Love to Run

Another sleepless night
With you running through my mind
Replaying the conversation in my head
I can chase what-if's and pursue them till they're dead

I've run too far to let you go
And shared too much to ignore what we both know
Days and nights spent racing, wasting...
I've been chasing you for so long that I forget
I don't even love you, I just love to run

We'll Just Be Friends

It's no secret that my eyes follow you across the room
Your friends say I'm lying if I pretend I'm not into you
But you think it's crazy, because I don't fit your plan
I don't match that magic list describing the perfect man

So speak to me plain Miss Liza Bennet
The story's not over, I'm sure you're in it
I'm no Darcy, I'll dance with you from the start
But you're not sure where we're headed
And all I know is it's out of my hands
So until the end, we'll just be friends

Maybe I'm crazy to think that I could top your list
And maybe you're right to think a perfect guy exists
But sometimes what's perfect requires a second glance
And sometimes what you think you know deserves a second chance

So speak to me plain Miss Liza Bennet
The story's not over, I'm sure you're in it
I'm no Darcy, I'll dance with you from the start
But you're not sure where we're headed
And all I know is it's out of my hands
So until the end, we'll just be friends

Jane don't always know
How the story ends
It's a choose-your-own-adventure

So speak to me plain Miss Liza Bennet
The story's not over, I'm sure you're in it
I'm no Darcy, I'll dance with you from the start
But you're not sure where we're headed
And all I know is it's out of my hands
So until the end, we'll just be friends

So speak to me plain Miss Liza Bennet
The story's not over, I'm sure you're in it
I'm no Darcy, I could hold your heart
But you're not sure where we're headed
And all I know is it's out of my hands
So until the end, we'll just be friends
